About
I am an independent builder based in Wales. My work focuses on practical, real-world software systems rather than polished products or commercial platforms.
I am particularly interested in systems that must remain reliable under imperfect conditions, including missing data, hardware limits and operational failure. Much of my work is iterative and long-term, prioritising correctness, auditability and local control over convenience.
Core areas
Health data and modelling I build local-first systems for continuous glucose monitoring, metabolic analysis and personal health data. The long-term aim is personalised modelling that learns behavioural and physiological patterns over time while remaining transparent and auditable.
Simulation and tooling I develop utilities around sim racing, telemetry and race preparation, focusing on tools that improve workflow rather than add complexity.
Self-hosted systems I prefer systems that run under direct control rather than depending on external cloud services. Reliability, observability and failure handling are core design priorities.
Welsh language and technology I am interested in improving the presence of Cymraeg within technical and computing spaces through translation and tooling.
Approach
- Spec-first design where possible
- Reliability before features
- Explicit safety and failure handling
- Measured, iterative development
- Systems built for real use rather than demonstration
